What do we draw?
Here's some past themes we've done...
February - 'All Things Love' - drawing a basic rose, extending to shading, creating depth and tone.
March - 'All things Welsh'- exploring the human figure (Rugby players- from stick men to real rugby men)
April - 'Spring Animals' - learning scale techniques for accuracy when referencing a picture. Learning how to draw fur and other animal features.
May - 'In Your Face!' - how to draw a convincing portrait learning anatomy of the face.
June - 'Reverse Drawing' - why not bring dark paper, white chalk / pencil and even add other colours from pencils to pastels.
July - 'Summer Vibes' - exploring how to draw things found at the beach.
August - 'Watercolour Sea Animals' - getting messy with watercolour paints, we will be using straws, bubble wrap, and other things to create sea animals.
September - 'Cityscape Doodles' - draw your favourite city with basic techniques of how to draw with perspective / using fine-liner pens and pasels.

Materials You Will Need

Paper
Start your new skill by investing in a sketch book (a decent one!) mid range is fine, it doesn't need to be an expensive one but go with one you feel drawn too!
Rachel recommends a multi purpose sketch book where you can use other mediums like pastels, watercolour pencils, pen and charcoal.
Alternatively you can just bring plain paper and 'have a go'.

Pencils
A variety of sketching pencils are great to explore with. Ranging from
6b,4b,2b,b,hb,h,2h,4h,6h
(Please Note: these refer to how soft or dense the lead is and will create different outcomes within your drawing.)
You can pick up a basic sketching set that contains a variety of pencils pretty much anywhere where there is stationary or art supplies.
Others recommend fancy none sharpening ones like these.
Remember to have a pencil eraser, and sharpener if needed or again a fancy eraser people use are here.
